I had a great ride around the whole of the Deanery, I made it round visiting 17 churches in all and cycling over 60 km. On the way I saw a Wedding about to start and I had a lovely view across Poole from the top of comfort Heath. I met Bishop Karen at St James and a few other lovely welcoming people too. I saw some cake left out for participants that looked like it had been found by an animal of some sort (some learning a lesson to always leave food in a tin). I found some great cycle paths across Poole, although they didn’t always go in the direction I wanted them too. I got a lost a few times but Google Maps was on hand to guide me back to the right path.
I was very impressed with the originality of whoever named the Churches in Poole as each one was dedicated to a different saint, including St Mary, St Dunstan, St John, St Paul, St Phillip, St Andrew, St Mark, St Nicolas, St James, St Thomas, St Michael, as well as All Saints, Holy Angels, The Church of the Transfiguration and Christ Church. There is just one church without a dedication and that is Lytchett Minster Parish Church.
