Our Knitted Nativity is getting ready to begin its journey through Advent. Our St Mary’s Knitted Nativity, sometimes known as a Posada, has travelled from house to house around Lytchett Matravers each Advent since it was created in 2016 (it actually stayed in the Estate Agents window during December 2020 but some sheep were sent to visit homes instead!).
It is a wonderful chance to stop and recall the story and the characters that are the focus for this time of year and to reflect on something of the real story behind all of our celebrations. It comes with a diary that can have thoughts, drawings or photos added. We love to share this opportunity with many people and the added bonus is that each household can choose to keep a small knitted sheep, as a momento, when they pass the nativity set on. The sheep are all ready to travel having been knitted by the fabulously talented Karen and Angela, who also created the whole set.
