What a team we had this year for the Ride and Stride sponsored event in aid of the Dorset Historic Churches Trust. This Trust has given us grants towards our heating and window repairs and has also promised a grant towards our bell project.
Thank you to everyone who joined in, we set off with 8 of us and travelled via Sturminster Marshall and Shapwick to join the Tarrant Valley for a lovely run in bright sunshine. With most of the team making the 8th church at Tarrant Monkton – in sight of the Langton Arms!
After that 4 of the team then progressed on another 2 more churches – in Tarrant Hinton and Tarrant Gunville making a grand total of 10 churches, before heading home, still bathed in sunshine. The total distance travelled by the Vicar (which involved an extra trip up and down Colehill to collect his church keys at the start!) was 54 km or around 33 miles.
