St Mary’s Church lit up with trees, lights and visitors

During the first weekend of December and our second weekend with a new heating system we held a Festival of Christmas Trees for the first time. There were 10 local organisations who participated by sponsoring and decorating a tree to be displayed in the church with different themes. The themes ranged from recycled library books sponsored by our village library to biscuit decorations made by our WI. We also had a beautiful display of Holly and Ivy in the church porch which as decorated by the Methodist church and a tree made out of coat hangers by Ann Manning. The window ledges depicted the story of the three trees …. This story tells how God’s plan for us may not be as we expected, but we must trust in God. Read Jeremiah 29: 11

We welcomed over 330 visitors from around Dorset and further afield and raised over £1,300 for our much needed heating fund.

Thanks go to our Fundraising team, our helpers, sponsors, decorators and most of all the public who came to support us.
